Trimark Opens Panel Shop in Norfolk, VA
Folsom, Calif. – Trimark Associates has opened a 4,300 square foot assembly facility in Norfolk, Virginia to fulfill a U.S. Navy contract to build more than 113 electrical meter panels, each with the capacity for 12 meters. In addition, the shop will support configuration and commissioning of an additional 3,000 meters to be installed across the Navy Region Mid Atlantic.
Trimark anticipates adding more than eight jobs at the location for skilled meter and electronics technicians to accommodate the needs of this project.
The facility will support Trimark contracts related to the U.S. Navy’s Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI) project; the Middle Atlantic AMI project; and the Norfolk Naval Metering project. Collectively, these projects include design, assembly, testing and delivery of meter and radio communication panels to support projects throughout the Eastern United States. These meters are being installed to capture shore power used by naval vessels while at dock.
Trimark’s new panel facility is located in close proximity to the Norfolk office of Weston Solutions, the prime contractor for these projects. By locating near the primary point of delivery, Trimark will save expenses related to travel and shipping while enabling convenient access for project team members to attend factory acceptance tests.
Trimark is actively pursuing U.L. listing for the facility to complement Trimark’s existing U.L. listed panel shop in El Dorado Hills, California.
