NERC CIP
The North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) maintains cyber security standards for Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP). Trimark supports these efforts by providing NERC CIP compliant systems.
Trimark’s SCADA supports NERC CIP compliance to help you meet critical infrastructure program requirements
Protecting the critical infrastructure of the electrical grid is a priority for energy providers, government agencies, and utilities. The North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) maintains cyber security standards for Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP). Trimark supports these efforts by providing NERC CIP compliant systems.
Trimark integrates the automation and control features of SCADA to reflect the overall NERC CIP compliance plan, as well as smart grid and intelligent utility objectives.

Trimark designs its SCADA systems to integrate with a client’s NERC CIP Program
Trimark will be your trusted advisor and reliable partner in establishing a compliant NERC CIP SCADA system. We take pride in providing practical advice, industry proven methodologies, and a service ethic that is the best. We have earned the trust of independent power producers, large energy users and public utilities by deploying turnkey, end-to-end solutions that help them achieve their mission-critical milestones and meet business and operational imperatives.
Our unique approach reflects our belief that implementing a strong cyber security program is what is important. Responding to NERC CIP and WECC compliance requirements can overshadow cyber security, which is the real need. We are not suggesting that the compliance issues can be ignored, but we want to work with you to establish systems and processes that keep your staff and systems performing at peak levels while providing the security mechanisms that keep your systems available and reliable.
Projects
Southampton Solar
Designed by Westwood, the site included 42 TMEIC 2500kW inverters and a NEXTracker solar tracking system. Southampton Solar was brought to COD by Signal Energy for Dominion Energy. Signal Energy was the EPC responsible for managing construction.
Big Sky North Substation
Developed, owned, and operated by Sustainable Power Group (sPower), this substation is the first tie into the 230kV Big Sky Substation that feeds into the SCE grid. This substation accommodates a 105 MW PV resource, with the intent to expand significantly with additional solar generation sites. Big Sky North Substation is directly managed by the Master Plant Controller to provide a central source of voltage and VAR regulation to support greater grid stability through the tie it has with the Big Sky Substation. Rosendin Electric, Inc. was the EPC responsible for managing construction. Trimark provided the complex metering utilizing a Loss Compensator cross communication approach to limit the losses calculated for revenue settlement. Trimark was also responsible for establishing the communication backbone between the Big Sky North and Big Sky Substation; as well as the integration of the Big Sky North Substation into the Master Plant Controller to allow the substation to achieve NERC CIP compliance and adhere to the IA requirements.
Colgreen North Shore
Developed by Sunpin Solar, the site includes 34 SMA 2200 inverters and a NEXTracker solar tracking system. Trimark provided a full SCADA system, 34 network drops, 2 MET stations and full grid controls for the site. In addition, Trimark is conducting the plant commissioning activities for the client, including a full commissioning report on the various systems and equipment and a performance evaluation of the site with respect to the original generation models. Trimark also developed, documented, and established the NERC CIP process for the site.
