Folsom, CA, August 29, 2023 – If your resource participated in the CAISO market as a Scheduling Coordinator Metered Entity (SCME) for one or more trade days prior to August 1, 2023, your annual SQMD Plan Affirmation deadline is quickly approaching.
To become an SCME, the resource must prepare and submit a Settlement Quality Meter Data (SQMD) Plan for CAISO approval. Part of that plan is a commitment to an annual SQMD Plan Affirmation to confirm that the SQMD submitted to CAISO complies with the approved SQMD Plan. These SQMD Plan Affirmations are due by October 31 every year. On years ending with an even digit, Scheduling Coordinators (SCs) must also conduct a SC Self-Audit Attestation.

Trimark’s Audit Team will evaluate the entity’s SQMD process and identify any issues with compliance that require remediation. Once ready, Trimark will issue a report to the SC/Resource Owner that serves as evidence that the SCME is following their approved SQMD Plan. The SQMD Plan Attestation report provides support for the Scheduling Coordinator’s signed SQMD Plan Affirmation submitted to the CAISO.
