Folsom, CA, January 19, 2021 – Trimark Associates, Inc., the industry leader in intelligent energy control, is expanding its engineering team to deliver utility-scale SCADA systems incorporating the Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL) hardware platform.
The increasing size and complexity of PV systems and battery storage, together with the move toward dependence on renewable power, means that Power Plant Controllers are critical to grid resiliency. While Trimark has proven its ability to deliver stable, secure and reliable systems, the addition of SEL-RTAC provides another option for developers who prefer to standardize on SEL products like the SEL-3555 Real-Time Automation Controller (RTAC) or the SEL-3355 Substation Automation Controller.
“More renewable resource owners are seeking the reliability, security, and warranty of SEL’s industrial-hardened platform,” explained Mark Morosky, Trimark’s President and CEO. “Our customers gain confidence knowing that Trimark can implement its advanced PV controls on industry standard hardware.”
With this addition to Trimark’s solution set, developers may choose to deploy Trimark’s SCADA on SEL devices or on ruggedized servers from Nutanix, Cincoze, or DELL. Depending on the utility or developer’s needs, Trimark’s experienced engineering team will offer a cost effective SCADA solution. Each solution will reflect Trimark’s extensive domain knowledge in planning, configuring, testing and deploying utility-scale systems required to operate PV generation, battery storage, PV+BESS, microgrids and substations.
To lead the expanded engineering team, Trimark hired 24-year industry veteran, Dean Fagan as Director of SCADA integration. Prior to joining Trimark, Mr. Fagan organized and trained the SCADA infrastructure group for EDF Renewables. Dean’s team planned, configured, commissioned, and operated industrial control systems using SEL technology. He holds certifications for Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Microsoft, Cisco, Novatech, and Infosec. His engineering experience spans electric power production, oil & gas, large-scale commercial construction, technology manufacturing, property management, IT security, and more.
